2nd National PhD Conference In Social Sciences
Padua, 22nd – 24th June 2017
Update: the deadline for the submissions has been extended to the 12th April 2017.
The PhD course in Social Sciences: Interaction, Communication and Cultural Constructions of the University of Padova will host the second PhD National Conference entirely organized by and addressed to PhD students.
Starting from the experience of last year, we propose again the PhD Conference format as an opportunity of debate and growth for PhD students coming from different disciplines and universities. In an informal atmosphere it will be possible to discuss our research projects, engaging in a constructive and critical debate on theoretical and methodological perspectives and on empirical results. Therefore, we encourage the participation both of those who are in the early stages of the path and of those who wish to engage in a critical debate on their work. This year, in order to promote interactive spaces of discussion we renew the format of the Conference dedicating the third day to participatory activities for which it is open a call for proposal.
The event is addressed to:
- PhD students.
- Graduates, trainees, interns and young researchers coming from universities and research institutes, specialisation schools or third sector organizations operating in the country.
- Master degree students and first and second level Master course students.
Conference participation is free of charge.
Possible other related events will be announced as soon as possible with the respective details.
AIP- Associazione Italiana di Psicologia
The first two days of the Conference will be organized by themes and will be structured into the following sessions:
- Health and wellbeing
- Bodies, genders and sexualities
- Urban spaces and community
- Technologies and innovation between social and environmental changes
- Religions and spirituality
- Inequalities and resistances
These areas are not exhaustive and binding for the participation at the conference. In addition to these identified sessions free-topic contributions will be evaluated. On the basis of the received contributions, the committee reserves the right to create new sessions. In particular, for those contributions related to two or more sessions, there is the possibility to create “ad hoc” joint sessions, in order to promote integration and dialogue between different areas of research through an interdisciplinary approach. Furthermore, a correct balance of the different disciplines will be taken into account during the selection process.
The third day of the Conference instead will focus on the theme «Interlocking academia with the “outside world”». The activities will be selected among the responses to the call for proposal.
The Book of Abstract will be published.
